Duke of Edinburgh Gold Project: Wilderness First Aid Adventure
Dates: March 24th – 28th, 2025
Location: Stepping Stones Bible Camp, Deroche, BC
Take your Duke of Edinburgh Award journey to the next level with our immersive Gold Project experience! This five-day, four-night adventure is designed to broaden your skills, challenge your limits, and leave you with a sense of accomplishment while earning valuable certifications.
Hosted at Stepping Stones Bible Camp in Deroche, participants will be taking part in a 40-hour Wilderness First Aid course over the week. This intensive course includes Canadian Red Cross Wilderness First Aid with CPR C and AED certification, valid for three years, as well as a Standard First Aid certificate, recognized as an Intermediate First Aid equivalent—great for your résumé!

What to Bring:
Participants will need to provide their own food for the week, with access to a fully equipped kitchen for meal preparation. Since this location is not within walking distance to any stores, it’s important to arrive fully prepared.

Embark on an unforgettable journey as part of your Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award! Designed for beginners, this combined Practice and Qualifying Adventurous Journey introduces participants to the fundamentals of outdoor exploration and team-building in a safe and supportive environment.
Over the course of three days, participants will paddle the serene waters of Pitt or Alouette Lake, hone their canoeing skills, and learn essential outdoor techniques such as navigation, camp setup, and wilderness safety. Along the way, you’ll connect with peers, build resilience, and develop confidence as you achieve your goals in the heart of nature.
Upon registration, you’ll receive a comprehensive information package detailing everything you need to prepare, including gear lists, waivers, and access to our virtual preliminary meeting where we’ll cover all journey essentials and answer any questions you may have.
Gear Note: Participants are responsible for their own personal gear, such as tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, tarps, ropes, mess kits (utensils, bowls, cups), and camp stools. Ridge Wilderness Adventures provides all cooking equipment, group gear, and food.
