Wilderness Guide School - Maple Ridge

Our program is carefully crafted to provide you with a comprehensive training experience that will set you apart from the rest. Not only will you gain invaluable expertise, but you will also have the chance to secure employment or an internship with Ridge Wilderness or pursue another esteemed local guiding outfitter. But that’s not all – upon successful completion of our Wilderness Guide School, you will be awarded Nationally Recognized Certificates by none other than The Red Cross and Paddle Canada. These prestigious certifications will not only enhance your credibility but also open doors to endless opportunities in the guiding industry.

Wilderness Guide School Schedule and Certifications:

1. Wilderness First Responder (80hrs)
   • March 6-10 8:30 am – 6:00 pm
   • March 11-12 8:30 am – 6:30 pm
   • March 13-14 9:30 am – 6:00 pm (dinner break 2 hours) 8:00 pm – 8:00 am (day 9)
     • Successful participants will obtain a Canadian Red Cross Wilderness First Responder with CPR C and AED certificate valid for 3 years, along with CRC Basic Life Support certificate valid for 1 year.
2. Intro Tandem Canoe Instructor Course – Paddle Canada Certification
   • March 16th – 18th
   • 9am – 4pm each day
3. Intro Solo Moving Water Course – Paddle Canada Certification
   • March 21st – 22nd
   • 9am – 4pm each day
4. Moving Water Instructor Course – Paddle Canada Certification
   • March 24th – 27th
   • 9am – 4pm each day
5. Big Canoe Intermediate Leader Course – Skills – Paddle Canada Certification
   • March 29th – 30th
   • 9am – 4pm each day
